The best laid plans..

Things aren't going to plan.  I thought it time to show you a couple of achievements from the last Crop.  Neither have any journaling on them and I'm actually thinking that they don't need it..pretty self explanatory really, huh.

The plan was that I'd rear this child to an age such as this, of innocence and sweetness and then she'd stop growing and be my forever companion.  Walking, talking and gorgeous...but not with any greater need than loving parents and some diverting friends.  But she grew up.  And unlike most plans that don't work out..I'm OK with this.  I like her even more as a young adult, if that's possible.  What I don't like is the huge number of photos I've got of her as a child that remain to be saved into some fabulous scrapbook LO. I'm thinking that Plan B may have to be - scrap faster.  She is trained to take photos and save the junk that I use on pages, so the back-log is becoming appalling.  Even her memory will be frayed by the time I get to recording some of the high points of her teens!
So, with the next Crop on Saturday...ah well, you know.  I'll TRY.  But it would be rude not to chat too.  And certainly rude not to help out in the kitchen and make a cuppa now and then.  You get it.  Plan B needs a Plan C that allows for maximum excuses!

Your daughter looks gorgeous.Oh well..maybe just put the pics on a disc with a recording of your voice.Have you seen those gadgets you can add to scrapbooks?I think a recording of your thoughts about your daughter would be a priceless treasure to her, and any grandkids. An idea?

I don't envy you years of photos to scrap - the memories, yes, but not the endless scrapping, lol!! Not that the results aren't fabulous, cos they are... Hope Plan B works, and failing that, that Plan C is a good one!!!

Sort the photos first so you have one box/digi-folder of the ones you might use to scrap with. Set a deadline. I planned to 'scrap' the first 21 years of my youngest sons life, for his 21st birthday. Retirement, three months travelling, and then emigration set me back and he got it for his 23rd. (He still sheds a tear when he looks through it!) The next son was twenty five when I started his, and due to his constant queries (nagging!), he got it a year later. I haven't even started the other three, but I hope you get yours done. They are priceless gifts that will be treasured by generations to come! Happy scrapping! Kate x

Lovely! I adore the bunting on the second one and your daughter looks like she was a really happy little girl! They're joyous!

Hi Julia, your daughter is so gorgeous and I think you are right, no journalling is required there. I think Judy's idea (above) is a great one. Sizzix keep putting little recording discs in their items, which record up to one minute of audio and you can attach them to your piece. As I don't have thingy where I can use an app I will post one of these off to you to try out. Hugs, Anne x

You could always coin a new phrase... that they grow up quicker then you can journal the pics!!!

I gave up scrapbooking a couple of years ago. It was just too involved for me. Now I do cards and find they are just smaller versions of the art. I love that you have the patience for this! Your layout is wonderful!

Great pages! I can relate to the backlog. I have DECADES of layouts to do. I've also found I'm one of those "don't even think of rushing it" scrappers. When I try, well, I usually spent 4 times longer correcting the things I didn't like lol.

Gorgeous pages, although with such sweet photos I guess it's easy! Maybe you could do some photo montage pages to speed things up a bit. Or not, as the case may be!

Cheers, Rachel.

Great layouts she was a cutie, no wonder you didn't want her to grow up.
I need to get back to scrapping, I've still got boxes of photos to be done.

I agree these pages don't need anything more. In fact, sometimes less is definitely more. But I assure you, your scrapbook pages are never ever LESS!!

Trying again...

Oh my word I can really see you in your daughter!! Such fun pics. Have you tried using the divided page protectors? They are great for mass scrapping.

What you published made a great deal of sense. However, what about this?
suppose you were to write a awesome title? I am not saying your
content is not good., however what if you added a
post title to possibly get a person's attention? I mean "The best laid plans.." is
kinda vanilla. You might peek at Yahoo's front page and see how they
create article headlines to grab viewers to open the links.
You might add a video or a related pic or two to get people
excited about what you've written. Just my opinion, it could make your posts a little
bit more interesting.
